The data comes from reports and may be incomplete or out of date. Use it as a guide and always check the road itself before you travel.

Frequently asked questions

How does this tool work?

Enter a start (or use your current location) and a destination. We calculate a driving route and check for reported flood points within 60 m of it. If there are any, we look for a detour around them, tell you the extra time, and let you open it in Google Maps.

Where does the flood data come from?

Four sources: flood reports from the iTIC Foundation via Longdo Traffic (the main source), BMA road water-level sensors via ThaiWater (only recent readings), flood complaints citizens file on Traffy Fondue — the BMA’s complaint channel, built by NECTEC — shown as unverified with a link to the original report, and visitor reports approved by our team. Points within 50 m of each other are merged into one point that names every source.

How up to date is it?

The page fetches new data every 3 minutes and shows the time of the latest data at the top. If the main source can’t be fetched for more than 15 minutes, points turn grey and a route check says the data is unavailable instead of “no reports”.

Why doesn’t it say a route is “safe”?

Because we only know about spots someone has reported — a road with no reports may still be flooded. So we only say whether floods are reported on your route and how recent the data is. Always check the road and official announcements too.

How do I report a flood?

Tap “Report a flood”, pin the spot, pick the water level, add details or a photo if you like, and send. No name or account needed. Our team reviews each report before it shows on the map, and a report shows for up to 2 hours after it was sent.

Is it free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, ads or sales offers. iReadCustomer runs it as a public service for people in Bangkok during the rainy season.
